As part of the TT Global Foundation’s digital literacy initiative, we are proud to announce that we have recently completed a state-of-the-art computer lab at Onsando Girls DEB Secondary School in Nyamira County, Kenya. The Digital Gender gap remains a significant challenge in rural Kenya. Through this initiative, we aimed to address the key barriers that young women and girls face to digital inclusion by creating a space to access up-to-date technology free of charge.
The existing space was extensively renovated and prepared for the installation of 40 computers, Wi-Fi, a digital smartboard, and new furniture, ensuring that students and the community had access to a fully equipped IT environment.
As the first and only computer lab in the vicinity, it will play a significant role in generating new educational and economic opportunities for the 200 Onsando girls and for the rest of the community, whom we also plan to provide ongoing ICT training.
Looking ahead, TT Global will continue to digitally empower young women and girls in rural communities across geographies and help bridge the digital divide, a core objective of our mission.
